ORI Executive Director Andrew Shore appeared on CNN’s the Situation Room to discuss the “First Sale” issue and the Supreme Court Case.  When talking about copyrighted goods, Shore makes the case that if you buy it, you own it and should be able to do with it as you please.

Absolutely! I believe that when I purchase something I paid for the right to do with it as I wish. Don’t copyright laws only protect the content from being claimed as anothers? You know “PLAGIARISM “! I could be wrong but I bet I wouldn’t be the only one. So sorry Big Boys……did the little guy find a way to beat you at your robbery? What a wonderful world we live in. Companies can rob the starving People for a profit (Gas, oil, insurance, taxes, etc…) but when someone finds a way to give the People a break and still make a little profit, those companies can fight tooth and nail and tie it up in courts for years….all for the love of money. What about the love for your fellow man. Our economy is shaky at best. We need education to better ourselves and feed and support our families. We have to find a break when we can, after all, there is not a country sending food for our starving children or shoes for their barefeet or supplies to build a new roof over their heads. Lets face it, we are on our own. I hate to be the one to say this but I really hope nobody is counting on the justice system to do the right thing. It can’t be counted on to even tell the jury they have a choice about conviction charges and even doing the right thing, regardless. I myself, am rooting for the little guy. Its what America stands for.
